Responsibilities
- Prepare menu items according to recipes, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Report any issues with stock, equipment, or MEP (mise en place) to the Chef in charge.
- Follow strict food safety practices, including HACCP regulations and food handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and good condition of all kitchen equipment.
- Store and rotate goods properly, following the FIFO (First In, First Out) system.
- Take an active role in checking the quality of ingredients and the final product.
- Collaborate with fellow chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and high service standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen environment, ideally as a Commis Chef.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, handling, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and ensure consistency in dishes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP and other food safety regulations is a plus.
- Passion for food and a commitment to continuous improvement.
